Crunchy Peanut Butter or Smooth? It was the first question we needed to ask when we discussed peanuts. It's divided many people, but we all have a preference.
In this episode, we discuss the weird and vast world of peanuts. Another plant which we had no idea about the cultural history of this bean or legume or nut. We find out exactly what the peanut is in this episode. We talk crazy facts, like, the roasted seed makes an excellent coffee substitute. Or the term “peanut gallery” comes from the 19th century and peanuts have gone into outer space! Astronaut Alan Shepard brought a peanut with him to the moon in 1971.
We deep dive into the history from its origins in Incan civilisation, through to its abundant use in modern society. We also discuss the many health benefits, medicinal uses in folklore throughout the world, moving straight into cooking, storing and growing them.

Did you know that Plums are one of the oldest fruits in the world? Taking a significant place in many cultures throughout the world, from the Australian Aborigines, with their bush tucker to China's long history with the plum. We explore the long history of the plum move on to the medicinal uses and the small fact that the plum when dried takes on a whole different form. Gotta listen for that. It's mind-blowing.

Did you know that broccoli is a giant bundle of unopened flowers, or genetically speaking, broccoli is the same plant as kale, cauliflower, kohlrabi and other Brassicas? Neither did we until we did our research!
